AFTRA Members Oppose Relaxed Media Ownership
at a Public Forum on January 18

AFTRA members and AFTRA Philadelphia Local Executive Director John Kailin opposed further harmful consolidation of the media industry at a public forum on media ownership on Thursday, January 18, at Temple University.

Hosted by Media Tank, the public forum featured Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds-Brown, AFTRA’s John Kailin, and additional panelists who discussed media diversity, ownership, and consolidation, moderated by Concetta M. Stewart, Dean of Temple University School of Communications and Theater.

AFTRA members were among those who testified at an “open microphone” where citizens gave public testimony to the FCC commissioners on how media consolidation has affected our community.
