April 2008 AFTRA Phoenix Workshop presents “How to Be Prepared for Stunts on Any Set” Date: Time: Location: This workshop is for everyone who expects to work on a set, especially where action sequences are going to be filmed. Learn all aspects of stunt safety. These seasoned stunt performers will demonstrate how to do stunts for the camera. Learn the ins and outs of hand-to-hand combat, falls and rolls. Arizona’s seasoned special effects expert will cover gun safety and varied special effects. Presenters Rodd Wolff is a 2003 Inductee to the Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame, AFTRA Board of Director Recording Secretary and SAG National Stunt and Safety Committee Member. Rodd has appeared in numerous films and television commercials highlighting his expertise in performance driving and equestrian stunts. Sherry Leigh has 20 years experience in front of and behind the camera. Sherry appeared in the live stunt shows T2/3D and Water World at Universal Studios in Hollywood for four years and in Japan for a year. Sherry is a Member-at-Large AFTRA Board of Director. Vicki Sims has worked over 20 years as a stuntwoman. A member of the Stuntwomen’s Association of Motion Pictures, Vicki has appeared in numerous television and theatrical films. An accomplished stuntwoman, Vicki’s record high fall on fire is 92 feet. Cory R. Starr has nearly 20 years special effects production experience and has been a Federal explosive licensee for 12 years. Cory’s specialties cover atmospheric, mechanical and pyrotechnics effects. Cory’s special effects work can be seen in such productions as S.I.S., Desperation, Rescue 911, and many more. Bring your notebook and pen along with your questions.
