AFTRA Detroit went to Philly!

A time-lapse photo showing the scrolling message on the PECO building welcomes AFTRA Convention delegates to Philadelphia, birthplace of our nation and host city for what National President Roberta Reardon called
the "AFTRA Revolution."

AFTRA’s 70th Anniversary National Convention was July 19-21 in Philadelphia. The National Convention is the highest governing body of the nnion with delegates having the authority to amend the union’s constitution and pass binding resolutions. The Convention is the heartbeat of the union. It’s where policy is set and the direction of our union is decided.

But our good looks and winning personalities alone would not pay the hotel bill.  Therefore, at the suggestion of Local Board member Judy Dery, we sold many, many tickets to a recent Detroit Repertory Theater production of “Lapses.” As you can see below, a good time (not to mention food and champagne) was had by all.

Guests of the AFTRA Detroit Local are all set to enjoy the play "Lapses"
at the successful AFTRA National Convention Fundraiser.
