Kenneth Roberts (1910-2009)

We Remember Kenneth Roberts

As a founding member of AFTRA, Kenneth Roberts dedicated his life to the union, serving as a member of the AFTRA National and New York Local boards and long–serving AFTRA National Treasurer. Roberts passed away June 19 at the age of 99.
 
A successful radio announcer, Roberts appeared on programs such as "Quick As A Flash,” "It Pays To Be Ignorant,” "The Shadow,” and "Let's Pretend,” as well as a staff announcer at CBS and the voice of classic TV soaps such as "Secret Storm" and "Love of Life."

Roberts was a dedicated trade unionist. His dealings with his fellows, even during debate, were an exemplar of courtesy, respect and thoughtful consideration for the perspectives of others. His selfless dedication to his fellow union members over the years and the quality of his character, provide a lasting legacy for AFTRA to this day.
