AFTRA Franchised agents are required to use one of the Standard AFTRA Exclusive Agency Agreements or a union approved contract when signing clients for work in AFTRA’s jurisdiction. AFTRA has two standard exclusive agency contracts that should be used when signing talent to work in AFTRA’s jurisdiction.
AFTRA Standard Agency Agreements contain protections for both performers and talent agents. These protections include, but are not limited to, a termination clause, a provision for arbitration should a dispute arise out of the agreement and requirements for both agents and performers to pay in a timely fashion.
Please be sure that when working with an AFTRA franchised agent, you are signing one of the above mentioned agency agreements for work in our jurisdiction. AFTRA Members are urged to contact the AFTRA Philadelphia office at 215.732.0507 if they become aware of a franchised agent proffering contracts for work in AFTRA’s jurisdiction other than those approved by AFTRA.
